About Me – Advanced Schema Therapist & BABCP-Accredited CBT Therapist in Northwich
I am an ISST Advanced Accredited Schema Therapist and BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, offering therapy in Northwich, Cheshire and online across the UK. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Compassion-Focused Therapy from the University of Derby. My approach is schema-led, integrating CBT and Compassion-Focused Therapy where helpful, to support deep and lasting emotional change.

Working with long-standing emotional patterns

I have a particular interest in working with people who struggle with high self-criticism, low self-worth, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and deep feelings of shame or defectiveness. Many people I work with also experience anxiety, fears of abandonment or rejection, and a sense of being judged by others, often feeling stuck in repeated or self-destructive patterns despite their best efforts to change.
Schema therapy focuses on understanding where these patterns developed, often rooted in early experiences and unmet emotional needs. I offer a compassionate and supportive space to explore and heal the vulnerable parts of you that carry this pain, helping you develop healthier ways of responding to yourself and to others. This approach allows change to happen not just at a thinking level, but emotionally and relationally too.

Integrating Schema Therapy, CBT and Compassion-Focused Therapy

While CBT can be very effective for managing symptoms and developing practical coping strategies, schema therapy works at a deeper level to address the emotional patterns that keep difficulties going. I also draw on Compassion-Focused Therapy, particularly when shame, self-criticism or emotional avoidance are present, to help create a sense of safety, warmth and self-understanding within therapy.

Therapy sessions in Northwich and online

I offer one-to-one face-to-face therapy sessions in Northwich, as well as online therapy via Zoom. Sessions may involve Schema Therapy, CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, or an integrative approach depending on your needs and goals.

Finding the right therapist

Choosing a therapist is an important and personal decision. It’s essential to check that a therapist is properly qualified and accredited, but it’s equally important that what they say resonates with you and that you feel understood. I offer an initial consultation so we can talk things through and you can get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
